Looking to make the transition to contact hockey? Join Mc Hockey Development's specially designed camp to ease players into contact in a safe and confident manner. Our program is perfect for those moving from non-contact to contact hockey, providing 8 hours of intensive training to help players adjust to the new pace and physicality of the game. Get ready to elevate your skills with Mc Hockey Development and excel in U15 and up hockey like never before! This 8 hours of development will focus on teaching players how to use speed, weight transfer, angles, deception and edge to initiate OR avoid contact. Small and big bodies will play the game differently to gain an advantage but the player with the most confidence in contact will be able to take their game to the next level. Location: Logan Lake Recreation Center Dates: March 15-20 six sessions and 8 hours of developmental ice time. All weekday ice times start at 6pm at the earliest to allow for travel considerations, Cost: $275 plus GST, works out to under $35 per development hour. What we focus on: Technical Instruction on the proper way to receive and initiate contact in a safe manner. Building on foundational pieces for contact that Positioning, angling and stick techniques that will separate the man from the puck Spatial awareness and safe versus danger zones on the ice Evasive Skating techniques Creating angles and pinning techniques Player to Coach ratio of 7:1 to ensure players safety and technique correction Protecting yourself and playing “Heads Up Hockey”
