Defensive Skills Camp with Coach Mike Playing the dynamic position of defense requires elite skating ability, exceptional puck handling, and quick decision-making skills. Mastering these takes time, focused training, and position-specific coaching designed to make the game easier and more effective. From my coaching experience, team coaches often don't have enough time to dedicate to developing defense-specific skills. That's why this camp is fully dedicated to the art of defense. Coach Mike breaks down the fundamentals of the defensive position in all three zones of the ice. The program focuses on: Footwork and Skating: Building a strong foundation with elite-level skating and agility. Zone Plays: Understanding positioning, gap control, and effective decision-making in the defensive, neutral, and offensive zones. Offensive Contributions: Learning how to join the rush, generate offense from the blue line, and become a consistent playmaker. This camp is designed to help defensive players elevate their game and become reliable, impactful contributors to their teams.
